Problem of the Food Security. National and International Solution Aspects

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis is to review the modern level of the Russian Federation food supply security as the most important aspect of the state sovereignty. The food supply security is the complex concept including the necessary consumption level of the main foodstuff and its safety. The food supply security policy of the Russian Federation as well as the major world food problems and solutions to the mare submitted. Authors concern that one of the upcoming trends of the problems solutions is searching the new efficient ways of the food supply increase: the use of nonconventional types of raw materials and waste-free technologies; the selection of the most productive species of fish, marine animals, other sea products and not fish objects of the aquatic industry; further research of the World Ocean resources; chemical, microbiological synthesis of the foodstuff and its components; the application of the gene engineering. Authors consider the safety issues of raw materials and foodstuff manufacturing in connection with its pollution by xenobiotics of the chemical and biological origin, and also, they analyze measures at the national and international levels that are aimed at providing foodstuff quality of food products and consumers health protection. From the author’s point of view, the important value of the food supply safety has the international information exchange allowing to respond quickly to every fact of the identification on the market of the quickie dangerous to health and to take the appropriate measures on its check and retirement. The basis vector of such actions is to develop and deploy the Management Systems within the international standards requirements of the ISO 9000 series and the GMP rules on the agribusiness enterprises.
