Grain and Corn Flour Products Market: Conditions and Development Prospects

Abstract:

Authors consider saturation sources of the Russian market with grain and products of its processing in the six-stage classification system: 1) grain; 2) grain subgroups; 3) flour; 4) cereals; 5) bakery, dried crust, bread rolls, pasta, pastries and semi-finished products, soya products; 6) the subsequent division of each element of the fifth stage. This classification was a base for the market segmentation of grain products. Researchers showed production changes of the most important grain products subgroups for the period 2010-2016 and 9 months of 2017. They determined that 70 % of the total grain market volume in Russia accounted for the agricultural organizations. The wheat took the first place in the production volumes structure (about 60% of the total grain harvest). A man revealed tendencies of rice market growth (400 thousand tons produced in 2016). Over the past 10 years, the export of agricultural products increased in 3.5 times and reached 17.1 billion dollars in 2016. The authors stated that in Russia the largest volume of flour produced in the Central Federal district (31.5 % of total production). They listed the main problems of the grain and flour market and their solution and identified promising directions of the grain and flour market development.
